Happy New Year!

4fa974f7ac9fWell, I’m back! Back to the blogging world, and back to the Chicagoland area after a refreshing and enjoyable retreat to southern New Mexico for the week between Christmas and New Years. This has become somewhat of a tradition for our family, and I believe this is the third or fourth year in a row we have done this. My wife grew up there, and we have family we visit and stay with. This picture came from my phone, so it is kind of small but as you can see, the sky and sun still exist in other parts of the world.

I love this trip, because not only do we get to see family (and the sun) but it is a great time to take stock on the year past, and look ahead to see what the new year will bring. And, as the years have gone by, this time has turned more from a “goal setting” time, to one of receiving marching orders from God. Because, my plans have a way of either not working out at all, or being lame plans : ) But when I hear from God, those tend to be the plans that are good, and that stick.

So, yes, I did receive some marching orders, and hope to share some of them with you soon. What are your marching orders for 2009?

Amen, to the lame plans that are not working out. Also looking forward to Gods plans which involve seeing old friends and finding
boat loads of joy in giving gifts back to him. Heres to a new year
and the rediscovery of the God who is able to give in boat loads.
