New Years Resolutions

resolutions-master-imageHere at Waterfront we decided that a great way to start off the New Year was to do a series an New Years Resolutions. Because everyone makes them. And, almost nobody keeps them. So, why the disconnect? I believe it is that the reason we want to change certain things about ourselves is that we don’t like, or aren’t good, at them. But we have been unable to do anything about it. So, when we proclaim “I’m quitting smoking” or “I’m going on a diet” we know we want to change that behavior, but if we knew how we already would have done it, right? So, we hit the wall after a week or two and wind up “off the wagon” again. So, why the series? The goal is to say, maybe there are some things that can get you un-stuck. Things like, why do I have this behavior? And, are there some truths in the Bible that can help me look at this in a different way? We are going to look at Time Management, Finances, Moral Issues, and Workplace Issues. But not so much in a “self help” way, as in a “God help” way.

I think it will be timely, and I am looking forward to it!
